My Danny Matts

Well tonight is my 47th Birthday, wow I'm getting old! Grumps and I were supposed to go fishing at Seawolf Park for a night of speckle trout fishing under the lights however, the weather was not right winds were blowing to hard out of the Southwest and I need a Southeast wind to clear the bay water. And with my very personal problem,my mind would not have been good on the trip either. My children called me today Joey and Sarah, wished me a Happy Birthday, and for that I'm very grateful. My children, and their spouses, and now my Danny Matts, are the reason I live and work every day. My wonderful daughter-in-law Tania, is doing great early stages of her pregnancy, I wish her the best over the next few months I know she will be an outstanding mom. Right now, I getting ready to embark on very hard trip with Grumps, and next week will be the most intense period since my time in the 1st Gulf war, right now I feel like at Defcon 4 the start of nuclear war, my spirit is high and systems are ready for the start of the war. I want everyone to know I not the type to start a war but I will bring one back to anyone who wants to hurt me. Until my next blog Have a Great month and those fishing lines tight.

Cory Martin Cruz, aka "the monk"

I wanted everyone to see Cory, aka "the monk" he is my youngest son. Cory, is a great fisherman, and loves the outdoors. Last, year for his part of summer vacation with me, monk, grumps and I went fishing two nights at Seawolf Park, Galveston, Texas. The monk caught his fair share of sand trout. Cory, is the reason, I have been traveling to North Carolina, all these past months. I know soon monk and I will be reunited again, but I will have to wait for that day to come. I have to tell a funny story, about the monk and I. About 5 years ago, Cory and I went hiking near Kerr Lake, North Carolina, as we were hiking along a creek we came to spot where a ton of carp were schooling in pool in a feeder stream leading into the lake, the monk, got so excited and said, Dad, lets go get the fishing rods and catch some fish, I had to break his heart and let him know, Dad, really does not like to eat carp, but his smile and excitement at the moment will always live in my heart. Grumps and I tried another fishing trip two weeks ago again with no luck, old man winter will not give into the spring, so another bad trip of fishing. We did manage to catch some sun fish but not single crappie or catfish. I will heading to Seawolf park next Saturday night in search of specks, and hopefully a big black drum, the forecast is still to far out for me to say this trip is a go, but I will have another post soon and let everyone know how it progresses. I want to wish every one a Happy Easter and to remember why we celebrate The Easter season.
